Imam Sheikh Ali Umar Yaqoub Abbasi holds the post as Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem (Jerusalem). He is also known as the Chief Imam and Khatib (Head Imam and Khateeb) of the holy mosque.
Besides the imamah duties, he often makes visits abroad to deliver religious lectures and discuss issues related to Al-Aqsa Mosque and the future of Al-Quds.
